The Doors and Albert King - Pine Coliseum, Vancouver, 1970

Here are The Doors and Albert King in Vancouver, B.C. Canada 1970 for a one night only on June 6, at Vancouver Pine Coliseum. The poster was designed by the esteemed John Van Hamersveld, known for many popular works of the era including his Jimi Hendrix 1968 Shrine Auditorium concert poster. JVH gave (clockwise from upper left) Ray Manzarek, Jim Morrison, Robby Krieger and John Densmore each their own colored box as part of his design. The Doors were touring off their Morrison Hotel/Hard Rock Café album, a Top 5 LP that was on the charts for half of 1970. And 47-year-old blues guitarist Albert King was a favorite of rockers everywhere, due to his exposure on FM rock radio in the day.
