The Chambers Brothers - Matrix, San Francisco, 1967

An original first-printing San Francisco concert poster for the Chambers Brothers playing for six nights at Marty Balin's Matrix club on Fillmore Street in San Francisco: March 28-30 and April 4-6, 1967. Rather than weekend sets, these were both mid-week residencies running Tuesday-Thursday for two straight weeks. "Minors Welcome," the woman's right eye subtly states. Known as NR-12 in the Neon Rose numbered series, designer Victor Moscoso created one of the most popular and enduring of all S.F. psychedelic poster images among art fans and collectors today. The hobby's Bible, The Art of Rock, thought so much of this artwork that it gave the poster a full page.
